Student Information
Students are entered into BusBossTM either electronically through
importing or individually by you. An add student wizard helps you to enter
all student information needed for routing.
BusBossTM has complete accountability for students. The system allows
you to store an unlimited number of addresses for a student. Each address
is given a user-defined description. The addresses are then assigned to days of
the week, either pick-up and/or drop-off. With BusBossTM, students can
be assigned to different stop locations, different buses, and different schools
for each day of the week, both pick-up and drop-off, if needed.
Students are assigned to bus stops either automatically or manually through the
map. If a student is automatically assigned to a bus stop that is not currently
serviced by a bus, BusBossTM allows you to change the current stop
assignment, or edit a route to include their stop.
Students are automatically assigned as walkers based on user-defined walk-to-school
distances. Students are automatically assigned to bus stops based on user-defined
walk-to-stop distances. These distances are unique for each school. Students
can be assigned to bus stops if they live in a school’s walk zone but they need
to ride because of hazardous conditions.
Track student incidents using BusBossTM. Each incident records the date,
person reporting, description of the incident, and action taken. Incident reports
can be printed by student or by driver.
BusBossTM has a graduation utility that automatically promotes students
from one grade to another, moves students to the appropriate schools, deletes 12th
graders, deletes inactive students, and retains or changes transportation information
accordingly.
Students that attend schools outside of the district are not treated differently
than students attending district schools. Bus routes for all students in BusBossTM
are generated in the same way.
